I just wanted to take a minute to let you know that your pool & spa installation in my brother’s home is amazing! During our recent visit we spent quite a bit of time enjoying the pool and its surroundings and found ourselves very relaxed.
The hardscape gives the home a fresh new look, from the matching stone driveway, main walkway and side walkway leading up to the oasis that was created in the back yard. Also, the quality of the work is outstanding. I believe that the installation is now over two years old and it shows as new.
Having worked in the construction industry for the past 27 years, I must also comment on the overall level of craftsmanship. The mechanical equipment is neatly installed and labeled as it should. All stonework was set flat, tight and properly pitched for drainage. Most importantly the pool finish is smooth and the contours are properly shaped.
My brother and sister-in-law love the pool, are quite pleased with your work, your professional staff, and your prompt follow up to questions and concerns regarding the pool and equipment. I’m sure that they will continue to have hours of enjoyment for many years to come.

After weathering both Wilma and Katrina storms, it was time to renew and revitalize my pool area and backyard. Having decided to forgo the screen enclosure, I wanted to create an extension to my home that provided a living space where people could gather as well as make better use of the pool. In addition to creating additional space around the pool, there was also a need to address drainage problems from which the patio area had suffered for years. The associates at Van Kirk & Sons understood my goals and turned my vision into a reality. Working alongside my personal designer, a plan was created that merged and addressed both my aesthetic desires and practical concerns. I knew from the initial sketch that we were \"on the same wavelenght,\" but I never imagined that the end result would materialize into my own \"personal tropical oasis.\"
I was able to make selections and provide input based on a tremendous variety of products and hands-on samples accessible on-site in the beautiful showroom. Throughout the project every memeber of the Van Kirk team was professional, showing up to the site in Van Kirk shirts and cleaning up the worksite at the end of the day. There was even another pool contractor doing work in the neighborhood that stopped by to ask if he and is client could see my project, and commended on the fact that it was a top-notch professional job.

Van Kirk & Sons, Inc. built our pool and spa during the construction of our new home in 2006. Our builder told me that in all his years as a home builder, he would use no other pool designer than Steve Schwartz at Van Kirk Pools. As a General Contractor myself, a Building Official and Director of Building and Zoning for a local municipality I doubt that my background and knowledge make me an average customer.
During our visit to the Van Kirk facility, Steve Schwartz showed my wife and I everything from their offices, warehouse, to their production yard. I was very impressed to see that they make their own pavers, copings and rock features. Steve explained by manufacturing them in house they could control quality, availability and a perfect match in colors offered. We ended our tour by their indoor pool where you were able to see all of the different accessories, features, pavers and tiles that are offered. Steve did a fantastic job helping us design our pool. He explained how to best lay out the pool and patio, to take best advantage of our backyard and the views from our yard and how to tie it all into the rear of the house. We could not be more pleased with the final product.
During the construction of our pool it was evident that the crews were skilled and took pride in their work. Van Kirk uses the Gunite concrete process for the structural shell of their pools as opposed to Shotcrete. Gunite is more expensive and superior to Shotcrete. As an old concrete guy I took great pleasure watching these craftsmen work their magic.
In the three years of owning our pool we have needed service a couple of times. To me it\'s less important than you have a problem, but more important how you handle a problem. Each time Van Kirk has fixed the problem quickly and professionally to our complete satisfaction.
